Carlos Alcaraz remains one of tennis’ most fascinating figures, and naturally, this generates endless speculation and gossip surrounding his love life. The 22-year-old has become the subject of romantic rumours involving fellow tennis star Emma Raducanu.

Conjecture intensified after the pair teamed up for the reimagined US Open mixed doubles tournament. However, Alcaraz rebuffed questions about his romantic status with a categorical rejection.

The five-time Grand Slam winner previously disclosed that he stayed unattached but expressed his willingness for love, whilst recognising the clear “difficult” challenges of balancing tennis with relationships.

“I hope so,” Alcaraz replied when told potential suitors wouldn’t be scarce.

Raducanu, who became romantically linked with Alcaraz, expressed similar views about personal relationships, stressing that tennis has stayed her main focus.

Alcaraz is also displaying a new appearance at Flushing Meadows.

A catastrophic haircut from his brother forced Alcaraz to remove everything and adopt a shaved head.

The appearance has triggered divided opinions, with tennis legend John McEnroe questioning why he didn’t travel into New York City to locate a professional barber.

“First of all, his haircut. Did he get the buzz cut from his hairstylist in Spain? He brought him in at Wimbledon. I’m wondering because you can get that for 20 bucks in the city,” commented the 66 year old McEnroe. Alcaraz has reached a third singles Slam final in 2025, having already clinched Roland-Garros in a nail-biting five-set match against Jannik Sinner earlier this year.

The pair faced off again shortly after in the Wimbledon final, which was won by the Italian.

The pair have dominated men’s singles tennis for the past two years. The last player to win a Slam other than Sinner and Alcaraz was Djokovic at the 2023 US Open.

“I think that we have a good friendship also off the court. It’s something great to see,” Sinner said. “We see that this is possible, it’s not like you have to be enemies also off the court.

“Of course we are enemies when we step on the court, we try to play our best tennis. But it ends there. After the handshake, everything is fine again.

“I think the respect we have for each other and the good relationship we have off the court is great,” Alcaraz said. “Everybody watches what we can do every time we face each other on court. We raise the level to the top. But the relationship we have off the court, I think that it makes it really special.”
