KPop Demon Hunters official trailer
KPop Demon Hunters has swiftly emerged as Netflix’s most successful release ever since the breathtaking musical animated feature debuted in June.
Boasting electrifying action sequences, top-tier animation and a soundtrack that’s dominated the charts, it’s evident why the film has resonated with countless audiences worldwide.
The production has also capitalised on the global K-Pop craze in unprecedented fashion, making it unsurprising that Netflix and Sony Pictures are allegedly committing fully to developing at least two follow-up films.
Nevertheless, audiences have compiled an extensive wishlist of requirements for directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans to consider if they wish the series to flourish.
Here are the most crucial points, reports the Mirror.

Don’t rush it
Among the most persistent fan requests for the KPop Demon Hunters (KPDH) follow-up is that the creators must allow sufficient time to produce the finest film achievable.
Whilst Netflix users would be absolutely delighted if a refined sequel matching or exceeding the original’s standard materialised next year, animation requires considerably more time than live-action productions, never mind the duration needed to craft an exceptional screenplay.
One viewer posted on Reddit: “i hope they don’t rush it and end up sacrificing plot-wise/story-wise.”
Another added: “They need to take their time to make the best movie that they can, not rush it out just to keep things relevant.”

Bring back the Saja Boys
KPDH centres around K-Pop trio Huntr/x, comprising Rumi (portrayed by Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong) and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo), who covertly protect humanity from demonic forces.
Nevertheless, their realm faces peril when a collective of demons, spearheaded by Jinu (Ahn Hyo-seop), establish a competing boy band called the Saja Boys to steal their fanbase.
Whilst a follow-up will probably showcase Huntr/x confronting a fresh demonic menace, supporters are clamouring for the wicked yet captivating demon lads to return.
“I dont know how but please bring the saja boys back! I beg! I will preach it to the choir!!!!!” one enthusiast declared on X.

“haha alright jokes over i need a sequel of kpop demon hunters and for saja boys to come back ASAP,” another concurred.
Meanwhile, a Redditor commented: “Listen, we didn’t get enough of the Saja Boys and I don’t care what form of plot twist has to be pulled, bring back the Saja Boys so that we can have their backstories too.”
Release it in cinemas
Whilst KPDH has accumulated over 200 million views for Netflix, it also delivered respectable box office performance when the singalong edition was launched for merely one weekend.
The streaming giant now possesses an opportunity for even greater cinema success when the sequel eventually arrives, and devotees would leap at the opportunity to witness Huntr/x performing on the silver screen.

One X user posted: “KPop Demon Hunters hits different in a movie theater crowd. People were having the time of their lives in there (including me), it was a total blast xD.
“If it showed anything, that sequel needs a theatrical release FOR SURE.”
Take to the stage
For some fans, simply watching the film on the big screen doesn’t quite cut it. With rumours swirling about a potential live show in conjunction with the sequel, fans are buzzing at the prospect of seeing Huntr/x perform live.
One Redditor speculated: “I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a concert tour coming as well… Even if Huntr/x isn’t a real group, people will show up to see them ‘live’.”

And another responded: “They should go the route of Gorillaz and have 3D holograms of the animated characters performing.”
More backstory
While the sequel is expected to pick up where the first film left off, KPDH still left fans with several burning questions about the main trio.
According to viewers, KPDH 2 should not only advance the story, but also delve deeper into Rumi’s enigmatic parentage, Jinu’s troubled past and Mira and Zoey’s childhoods.

“I know we all want Huntrix origins, Mira and Zoey’s backstory and what happened to Rumi’s parents but also PLEASE BRING JINU BACK!!!” one X user posted.
And a Redditor theorised: “More than anything I want the backstory on Rumi’s parents. There’s so much potential with the concept of a demon and hunter having a child – did they fall in love?
“Was her mom tricked and then betrayed? I can’t wait to (hopefully) find out in a few years. Her dad might even be alive.”
