Prince Harry’s next visit to the UK is set to coincide with a sad day for the Royal Family. The Duke of Sussex, 40, is set to return to his home country in September for the first time since April to attend the 2025 Wellchild Awards on September 8.
As patron of the charity, he attends the annual ceremony each year, which celebrates the achievements of children with serious illnesses. The awards also celebrate the exceptional care of the people who look after them.
While Harry will no doubt be excited to attend the awards, it will also be an emotional day for him as the ceremony falls on a poignant anniversary.
The awards are being held on the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. At the ceremony, Harry will spend time with each award winner and their families at a reception.
He will also give a speech at the ceremony and present the Award for Inspirational Child.
In a statement about the upcoming ceremony, Harry said: “I am always privileged to attend the WellChild Awards and meet the incredible children, families and professionals who inspire us all with their strength and spirit.
