Melania Trump is in “constant worry” about her 19-year-old son, Barron Trump, according to an insider. Barron is set to start his sophomore year at New York University’s Stern School of Business this autumn, but just because it’s his second year doesn’t make things any easier for the worried First Lady.
“Melania watches Barron constantly in an effort to be sure nobody messes with him or bullies him, as this is a constant worry with her,” a source told People on Tuesday. “She always knows where he is and what he’s doing,” the source added.
The US President and First Lady proudly welcomed Barron, their first and only child together, in March 2006. When his father first took office following his election win in 2016, Barron was just 11. Upon getting the keys to the White House, Melania chose to let Barron finish out his school year in New York City, where they were living previously, before moving to Washington, D.C.
Following his election defeat to Joe Biden in 2020, the family moved back to Palm Beach, Florida, where Barron was able to finish high school.
When Barron completed his first semester as a freshman at NYU, a source revealed that Melania was doing everything that she could to make sure that her son was having a good time. “She will do everything she can to make sure Barron does well in school and is socially and mentally adjusted to his life as a college student,” the source told People in December 2024.
In a recent press conference, President Trump even joked that Melania loves Barron “more than him.” His comments came after she wrote a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin asking him to ensure the safe return of the Ukrainian children that had been kidnapped since his full-scale invasion in 2022.
“She’s watched the same thing that you watch and I watch, I see things that you don’t get to see. It’s horrible. She has a great love of children,” Trump said. Referring to their son, the president joked, “she has a wonderful son that she loves probably more than anybody including me.”
“I hate to say that but she loves her son, she loves children, she hates to see something like this happening.”
