In the battle between Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus, Microsoft is almost certain to come out ahead in September.
After a stellar few months of new PS Plus Extra releases from Sony, Microsoft has well and truly hit back with the bombshell announcement that an absolute belter of a game is coming to Game Pass in September.
Indeed, it was recently announced that the long-awaited Hollow Knight Silksong is coming to Xbox Game Pass as a day-one release on September 4.
With multiple other titles also lined up for Game Pass in September, it’s hard to see a situation where Sony is able to strike back.
The most recent PS Plus Extra update added the likes of Mortal Kombat 1, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and the superb Sword of the Sea.
The August Xbox Game Pass line-up, on the other hand, adds titles like Gears of War Reloaded, Persona 4 Golden and Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
As for Hollow Knight Silksong, the September 4 release date was announced as part of a special live stream during Gamescom.
In addition to announcing the release date, the latest Hollow Knight trailer (below) showcased some of the features coming to the game.
The trailer highlights the game’s vast hand-crafted world, even showing off the huge map players will be able to explore.
Likewise, Hollow Knight Silksong will feature over 200 enemies for players to battle, as well as over 40 different boss encounters.
Players also caught a glimpse of some of the lead character’s abilities and items, including the Sting Shard, Magma Bell and Crafting Kit.
The Hollow Knight sequel takes place in a new land, and will feature a ton of new powers and abilities.
“Play as Hornet, princess-protector of Hallownest, and adventure through a whole new kingdom ruled by silk and song!” reads the official description.
“Captured and brought to this unfamiliar world, Hornet must battle foes and solve mysteries as she ascends on a deadly pilgrimage to the kingdom’s peak.”
