A horrifying case has emerged from India where an eight year old girl was brutally murdered and her eyes gouged out in a sickening “sacrifice” believed to aid a pregnant woman’s birth.
The young girl’s mutilated body was discovered on Monday, August 9, leading to the swift arrest of four suspects implicated in her abduction and murder.
One suspect, known as Dilip Kumar, reportedly sought the advice of a self-proclaimed “sorcerer”, Pervez Alam, after he and his wife conceived following years of unsuccessful pregnancies.
Alam allegedly advised the couple that to prevent a miscarriage, the expectant mother should wear an amulet consecrated with the blood and eyes of a virgin girl.
Alongside two other men, Tanveer Alam and an individual only identified as Dasarath, they kidnapped the innocent girl from a small village in the Munger district of Bihar, India. The child was returning home alone after delivering lunch to her fisherman father when she was abducted.
The men then took her to their chicken farm in Padham village, where it is claimed they performed rituals on her before murdering her and removing her eyes. These were then fashioned into a necklace and given to the pregnant woman.
The Times of India reports that the police have registered the case as a murder and suspected rape after discovering certain injuries on the girl. Police Superintendent J. J. Reddy revealed: “Dilip’s wife had conceived after many unsuccessful years of pregnancy. Hence, he acted on the suggestion of the Tantrik from neighbouring Khagaria district, which led to the gruesome killing of the minor girl.
“The police cracked the case based on evidence. Instructions have been issued to submit the charge sheet in the case at the earliest.”
Local law enforcement are confident that, given the evidence they’ve gathered at the scene, the suspects will face a speedy trial in the near future.
This news comes as a mother of two in America is accused of attempting to kill her two young children in an alleged ‘sacrifice’.
Ashley Parmeley, 36, from Festus, Missouri, was charged with second-degree murder after she walked into the Festus Police Department on 28 May last year, confessing to the police that she had killed both her children earlier that day.
Parmeley first attempted to kill her 2 year old son, Isaac, in St Francois County, Missouri and then shot her nine year old daughter.
She later allegedly discovered her son Isaac was still alive and drove north to the Timber Creek Resort, where she is reported to have drowned him in a water fountain.
Parmeley reportedly told investigators that she planned to “sacrifice” Isaac before she murdered both children, though the statement did not clarify what Parmeley meant by sacrificing her child.
