Arsenal have four transfers to explore after Kai Havertz injury including Man Utd raid | Football | Sport

Arsenal are back in the market for a striker following the news that Kai Havertz has picked up another injury. The versatile German forward is set to undergo further testing on a knee problem, the severity of which is not yet known. If he is ruled out for a prolonged spell, it would be a hugely frustrating blow to Arsenal’s hopes of mounting a Premier League title challenge.

The north Londoners are said to have responded to Havertz’s injury by delving back into the transfer market. They are reportedly on the lookout for another striker to cover for the 26-year-old during his absence. Time is running out for the Gunners to land a replacement, with just under two weeks until the summer window slams shut.

Express Sport takes a look at four potential options for Arsenal to consider…

Rasmus Hojlund

Manchester United have reportedly deemed the Dane surplus to requirements after signing Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. He has been widely tipped to return to Italy with AC Milan believed to be keen on getting a deal done.

Hojlund could emerge as a stop-gap solution for Arsenal if they can negotiate a loan until January or the end of the season. However, there are stronger options out there given that he is not even good enough for a mid-table side, let alone the Gunners.

Ollie Watkins

A much better target would be Watkins, who has been tentatively linked with a summer move away from Villa Park. Arsenal are said to be long-term admirers of the England international and bringing him to north London would make a lot of sense.

For one, he is proven in the Premier League while also being able to cover wide positions when needed. However, it seems unlikely that Villa would let him leave unless they can land a suitable replacement.

Nicolas Jackson

Jackson could be another potential option for Arsenal, given that he appears to be facing an uncertain future at Chelsea. He has been bumped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the summer arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.

The former Villarreal striker remains more than capable of doing a job for a big club, though. If the Gunners can negotiate a loan deal for Jackson, it would be a solid signing especially if Havertz is ruled out for an extended period of time.

Ivan Toney

A slightly more left-field option could present itself in the form of a move for England striker Ivan Toney. He has spent the last year in Saudi Arabia, having left Brentford to join Al-Ahli after initially being linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

He is another striker with no shortage of Premier League pedigree and would be able to provide quality cover in the absence of Gyokeres. Given that it is a World Cup year, there is a chance that he could be tempted to return to the Premier League.
