Taylor Swift has recalled a hilarious dilemma that she had when she met Prince William and his two eldest children at her Wembley concert last year. The 35-year-old, who will release her 12th album, titled The Life of a Showgirl, later this year, met the royal trio at the Eras Tour’s first show at Wembley Stadium on June 21, 2024.
Joined by Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10, William was seen excitedly dancing and singing along in the crowd before he later took his children backstage to meet Taylor. Taylor appeared on the August 13 episode of her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast, where she recalled Jason attending a London show on her Eras Tour.
Taylor said: “Wasn’t this the week I got to watch Jason meet the Royal Family?”, to which Jason recalled that he didn’t know what to do with his beer before meeting the three royals. He said: “I was like, ‘What do I do with my beer?”.
Miming Jason holding up his beer can, Taylor then added: “I watched him have this moment with his beer where he was like, ‘But I want to take it, but I know that I probably should not take it. I watched this happen, and it kind of was the most amazing…”
Recalling the moment, Jason then agreed with Taylort’s analysis of the moment, saying, “I like that you picked up on it because that was exactly what was going through my head.”
The London Boy singer then added of the moment she met the royals, “It was fantastic.”
On the podcast, Taylor also spoke about her upcoming album, which in turn sent fans into a meltdown.
Previously speakiing about meeting th royals on a separate episode of their podcast, Travis said: “Dude, he [Prince William] was the coolest motherf*****.
“He was awesome. He was so cool. I didn’t realise this as obviously we were backstage meeting him because he was there with little George and Charlotte, and they were an absolute delight to meet.”
In the trailer to the episode, we saw Taylor unveil her new album, which was blurred out, saying, “I wanted to show you something. This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl.”
