Queen Mary of Denmark was all smiles as she returned to work on Wednesday, just hours after news about her daughter sparked controversy. The Danish Queen attended the opening of Headspace Tårnby, a counselling centre in Kastrup, a suburb of Copenhagen.

The centre offers counselling services for young people between the ages of 12-25 free of charge. Mary looked stunning in business chic attire as she donned a blue and white pinstriped linen suit by Ralph Lauren, consisting of a belted blazer (without the belt) and matching wide leg trousers.

She completed the look with a pair of tan heeled sandals by Gianvito Rossi and gold jewellery.

The Queen of Denmark was joined by Danish Prime Minister Poul Nyrup Rasmussen and Tårnby Mayor Allan S. Andersen.

Royal fans loved Mary’s look and took to social media to praise her. One user wrote on Instagram: “Gorgeous. The perfect summer suit.” Another one agreed: “Mary looks fantastic, this suit is perfect for summer.”

A third fan said: “The perfect summer suit and just right for this event. She looks fantastic.” A fourth one commented: “Love the stripes! Mary looks summer fresh!!”

It comes just hours after Mary’s eldest daughter, Princess Isabella, sparked backlash after wearing a controversial top to a festival.

Isabella, 18, went to Smukfest, a popular music festival in Skanderborg and opted for a grungy band T-shirt that drew plenty of attention.

The t-shirt had a slogan on it which translated to “F***ed him yesterday” which is a tweaked version of a title of a song by Danish band Suspekt.
