Meghan Markle appeared to include a hidden detail in her announcement about the continuation of the lucrative deal with Netflix. The Duke, 40, and Duchess of Sussex, 44, have confirmed that they will continue a “multi-year, first look deal for film and television projects” with the popular streaming service.
In a statement released on Monday, it shared that Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, is set to expand its product range into new industries. A statement from Netflix read: “As ever, Meghan’s lifestyle brand, launched in April of this year with a curated collection of products that sold out in under an hour.
“The brand, developed in partnership with Netflix, will continue expanding into new product categories.”
Sharing her own excitement about the announcement, the Duchess of Sussex said: “We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As Ever brand.
“My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.”
As Ever launched in March, at the same time that Netflix released the first series of her cooking series, With Love, Meghan. The Duchess made products such as flower sprinkles, teas and a raspberry spread available for her fans – with the first launch selling out within an hour of the website going live.
The second series, which was reportedly filmed at the same time as the first episodes, will be released via Netflix next month.
There is no word yet on whether As Ever will soon allow international shipping, although royal expert Richard Fitzwiliams recently told that Meghan appears to have hinted at such in a recent Instagram post on @aseverofficial.
Alongside a picture of a female’s shadow holding a wine glass, Meghan wrote: “Oh, we see you too! Australia, UK, Canada – love to see how you’re finding a way to get your As ever products. You have good taste…and good friends [champagne-cheers emoji].”
Speaking to the Express, Mr Fitzwilliams said: “It is surely crazy in the week when Meghan’s latest YouGov poll ratings are minus 47 to hint that her products, in Meghan’s case those of her lifestyle brand, As Ever, might soon be reaching our shores.”
