Prince William leaves royal fan in stitches with 10-word joke about Louis’ new hobby | Royal | News

Prince William made a hilarious quip about six-year-old Prince Louis’s latest hobby – and it involves a very noisy instrument.

The Prince of Wales, 42, made the confession as he attended the 2024 Tusk Conservation Awards at the Savoy Hotel in London on November 27.

He greeted Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood, 77, and the lead guitarist from rock band Dire Straits Mark Knopfler OBE, 75, as they all celebrated the achievements of leading African conservations.

Chatting among the rock star legends and revealing Prince Louis had started to learn the drums, William made a 10-word quip: “I spend my entire life with my fingers in my ears.”

Acknowledging the superstar guests around him, William said there “is a lot of creativity here” and also joked that they had enough to start a band.

The Prince of Wales, who has been a long-standing supporter of conservation in Africa, has been patron of Tusk since 2005. It is one of the very first organizations he stood by when he started his public life.

During his appearance, William presented awards for Conservation in Africa, The Tusk Award for Conservation in Africa and the Tusk Wildlife Ranger Award. The Tusk Conservation Awards are an annual event which recognises conservation leaders for their pioneering work protecting wildlife and supporting communities across Africa.

The youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales is known for his cheeky personality, so news of his new hobby will come as little surprise to royal fans.

From pulling faces and dancing at the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee to climbing trees in Princess Kate’s heartfelt cancer recovery video, Louis always pulls cheeky expressions.

Speaking of his other children at the event, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, William in his speech said: “I want my children to live in a world where swallows still migrate, gorillas still live in the cloud forests of Uganda and rhinos still roam the arid rangelands of Namibia.”

The Wales children are no strangers to hanging out with musical stars, as Prince William took George and Charlotte to Taylor Swift’s Eras tour in London in June, 2024.

William spent the evening of his 42nd birthday watching Taylor’s first show at Wembley Stadium.

Swaying to the rhythm, William could be seen moving his arms from side to side as he danced at the concert to the song ‘Shake it Off’.

Fans also compared William’s dancing to Prince Louis’s dancing at the Platinum Pageant on The Mall in June 2022. In a clip that went viral on Twitter, of the two showing off their moves independently, fans have chimed in with their thoughts.

A fan wrote: “I don’t know if Prince Louis learned his dance moves from his dad or if Prince William learned them from his son.”

Many agreed with this sentiment, with one fan writing: “Windsor Moves,” while another suggested: “I bet they have dance music nights at home.”
