A tourist visiting London has shared his experience of staying in what he claims could be the capital’s “smallest hotel” – and you “won’t believe” the price.
Callum Ryan documented his stay at a capsule hotel in Piccadilly, City of Westminster, on social media. “This could be the best capsule hotel in the city,” he announced, sharing footage of himself crawling into his tiny accommodation.
The pod, equipped with a bed, pillow, and light, is part of Piccadilly Hostel, located right in the heart of Central London, boasting hundreds of similar rooms. Callum was pleasantly surprised by what he found upon checking in, stating it was “much better than he expected” for the cost.
“Look how cool it looks,” he exclaimed, showcasing the pod’s features such as a fan, dimmable lights, and a plug socket with USB slots for charging mobile phones. He continued his review, praising the comfort of the bed and noting that despite the small size of the space, it was sufficient for an overnight stay.
He also highlighted the “impressive” communal bathroom and shower facilities, which were included in the price and were “really clean.”
And the cost? Callum revealed: “For only £24 a night it is a really cheap place to stay in Central London. So I’d highly recommend you give it a try.”
His followers were quick to commend the “bargain” price too, one of which quipped: “£720 for the month, I’m staying there from now on.” Another chimed in: “£24 a night for a clean bed in Piccadilly Circus, what a bargain.”
Whilst a third person enthused: “That’s actually pretty banging. If you had a late concert or something that’s such a better option than trying to navigate your way home at 2am.”
However, others voiced concerns about claustrophobia, with one individual claiming: “And this is how to give someone a panic attack.” And a second TikTok user said: “Oh no! That’s like a coffin I’d be ill.”
The Coventry Street accommodation is listed by Hotels of London as: “The British Museum is situated 18 minutes’ walk from Piccadilly Hostel London, and Tower Bridge is 3.8 km away. In addition, The Criterion Theatre is located 150 metres away. Also, this hostel is within 20 minutes’ walk of the huge Coca-Cola London Eye Observation Wheel.
“Offering European dishes, Angus Steakhouse is around 5 minutes’ walk away. The nearest underground station is Piccadilly Circus, which is a mere 350 metres away.”
It also discloses that each room measures 2 m2 and offers free WiFi. One thing’s for sure, that’s definitely cosy!
