Prince George has reportedly been allocated a house at Eton College ahead of his rumoured big move to the boarding school next year. The prince, 12, is believed to be set to attend Eton in September 2026 after his upcoming final year at Lambrook School, which he attends with his siblings Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.
Although not officially confirmed, Eton is one of the frontrunners as it is where his father Prince William, now 43, studied. It is also close to the family’s Windsor home, which is believed to have been another deciding factor. Kate’s former school Marlborough College is also under consideration.
The future King will not only have to adapt to a change of school, but he will also be set to board there too, marking a major move for the prince who has always lived with his parents, Prince William and Princess Kate.
However, it is believed this will be as smooth a transition as possible, with these boarding arrangements having already been made.
George has been allocated a house at Eton already.
It is not known which one of Eton’s 25 boarding houses this is, with each house being home to 50 boys.
The houses have students from each year group.
It is not known how Prince George feels about the big move set to take place next year.
While iy may be daunting, it is believed Prince William enjoyed his time at Eton, and will no doubt share his special memories with George before he boards at the school.
William is reported to have lived at Manor House during his time at the school, with Prince Harry – George’s estranged uncle – having also resided there.
