The summer break is now in effect after an entertaining Hungarian Grand Prix that produced an intense battle between the two championship leaders in the closing stages. After his third win in the past four race weekends, Lando Norris has closed the gap to leader and team-mate Oscar Piastri to just nine points.
There is also a battle for third place. George Russell hunted down polesitter Charles Leclerc, who was forced into heavy management that cost him a shot at a first Grand Prix victory of the season. He now trails Max Verstappen by just 15 points in the Drivers’ Championship standings.
For Verstappen, the weekend couldn’t have gone much worse. He qualified eighth with Red Bull struggling for pace and went backwards in the race, finishing in ninth behind the likes of Gabriel Bortoleto, Lance Stroll, and Liam Lawson.
