She only wants to bring happiness and kindness into an owner’s life – but sadly, she hasn’t been shown much of it throughout her life.
Crossbreed Mara was dumped on the street with no food, water or shelter when her caretakers grew tired of her – and was left to fend for herself.
The seven-year-old spent an unknown amount of time wandering the streets before being taken in by a charity who vowed to give her the second chance she deserved.
The poor pooch has been now been under Miracle’s Mission’s care for around 260 days – and is desperate to find an owner who can open up their home and heart to her.
A statement from Miracle’s Mission reads: “Mara was dumped at a popular dumping site for pet owners in Romania with no food, water or shelter.
“A rescuer there became aware of this and she was transferred to her care. She is now looking for a comfortable home to see out her days in the UK.”
The pooch has been described as a “sweet yet sensitive girl” who get along with humans and can slowly warm up to other dogs. However, she becomes more “dog selective” the longer she spends in kennels.
The statement adds: “If there are a lot of dogs competing for attention she tends to hang back now. You can easily win her trust with some treats.
“She can be reserved and shy at times. Her rescuer says she needs a home with a big secure garden in the countryside as this is when she is happiest spending time outside.
“She cat tested really well and walks nicely on a lead. [She needs a owner] happy to adopt a shy dog who will need time to adjust and find her feet.”
Commenting on her rehoming post, one Facebook user said: “Gorgeous girl.” Another user added: “What a beautiful coat and colour.”
A third user said: “Oh, she is beautiful.” One more user added: “Gorgeous dog.”
Miracle’s Mission is a non-profile animal welfare organisation who work to rehome sick, injured and disabled animals worldwide.
A statement reads: “Our mission is to provide a place of safety for animals in danger, to educate on the needs of neutering both pets and strays and to neuter stray dogs and cats to prevent the birth of more animals onto the streets.
“We also rehabilitate and re-home dogs in need, often with disabilities, from our UK rescue base. We are a satellite rescue, we do not have operational kennels or our own rescue premises in the UK.”
