Royal fans make same complaint after Meghan Markle’s huge announcement | Royal | News

Meghan Markle made one major announcement about her As Ever brand this week – and royal fans had one similar thing to say. The Duchess of Sussex officially announced that she will be launching yet another wine next week, after her debut rosé sold out within minutes last month.

Meghan made the announcement via a newsletter from her lifestyle brand, and said people will be able to get their hands on her latest offering, a 2024 Napa Valley Rosé, which will be available to purchase from next week. She said that the new blend will “marry the same harmony of notes from our first and create a medley of delicate yet memorable flavour”. The newsletter read: “You’ll want to clink glasses with friends as the sun sets, toasting to a summer of joy. Barefoot or in sandals, dressed up or dressed down, this rosé may become your favorite accessory for alfresco lunches and dinners at dusk.”

As Ever also teased the new wine’s launch on their social media, writing in a post featuring two new pictures: “Oh, how we love seeing the world through rose coloured glasses. Rosé coloured glasses? Perhaps even better. Our new vintage of As Ever’s beloved rosé is available next week. Stay tuned for more details and timing.”

But some royal fans criticised the Duchess for using the term “vintage” for her new wine.

One user said on X: “Meghan Markle’s ‘new vintage’ rosé dropping next week? Her wine launches like a surprise merch drop.

“A true vintage means the grapes were grown, harvested, fermented, bottled, & properly stabilized, a process that takes months at minimum. But only in Meghan’s world can wine skip the entire winemaking process. The Duchess of White‑Label.”

A second one joked: “Of course, the next five boxes of 2029 vintage ‘wine’ are going to ‘sell out’.”

A third one opined: “She really does love the performance of it all. The faux gravitas, the storytelling & now the ‘exclusive vintage’ gimmick. It’s less about wine and more about keeping herself in the headlines.”

A fourth person agreed: “This batch will be as ‘authentic’ as the last batch.”

But others were excited about Meghan’s new launch, with one person writing on Instagram: “Love everything she [does] or [wears] or makes. She’s absolutely next level.”

Another one chimed: “Love.”

Several people posted heart emojis.

While it is not known how much stock will be available for As Ever’s new wine, their first one was sold in batches of three, six and twelve, with each bottle costing £22 ($30) and £66 ($90), £116 ($159) and £218 ($300) in total.

It was only available to purchase in the US, and it managed to sell out within 45 minutes.
