Homebase has announced the opening of a brand new garden centre in the UK this August.
The DIY and Garden retailer has opened more than 200 ‘Garden Centres by Homebase’ in selected The Range stores across the UK this year after collapsing into administration at the end of 2024. Homebased blamed a decline in consumer confidence and spending post-pandemic for the collapse and was forced to call in administrators last November. It later struck a deal with retail group CDS, which owns The Range, which helped to save some stores.
A total of 70 Homebase branches were snapped up by CDS as part of the deal, saving around 1,600 jobs, while rival DIY chain B&Q took control of five branches and a further four have been transformed into Wickes. But as part of its ongoing openings, Homebase has now confirmed another garden centre will officially open its doors to customers next month.
The retailer said the new centre will be based in the former Homebase unit at Enterprise Retail Park in the West Yorkshire suburb of Eccleshill in Bradford.
The new garden centre will be open from 9am on Friday, August 15, and customers who visit on the opening day have the chance to access exclusive offers and goodie bags.
Announcing the opening in a post on Facebook, Homebase said: “Big News, Bradford! We’re opening another ‘Garden Centres by Homebase’ in the former Homebase unit at Enterprise Retail Park, Eccleshill – and trust us, you won’t want to miss the grand opening.

The new launch comes after Homebase announced it had officially opened more than 50 brand new garden centres in The Range stores across the UK and Ireland back in May. Each location provides shoppers with a selection of premium plants and garden accessories to help transform outdoor spaces.
The openings come alongside the launch of ‘Kitchens by Homebase’ in selected stores and a new Homebase Bathstore is due to be coming soon.
