A royal expert has shared Princess Anne’sunique birthday “rule” and divulged how the royal has issued a warning to her family.
Princess Anne, often hailed as arguably the most hard-working royal, Queen Elizabeth’sdaughter and is frequently seen attending engagements across the country.
However, as she prepares to celebrate her 75th birthday on August 15, Roya Nikkah revealed on the Royals with Roya and Kate podcast that Princess Anne adopts a “no-frills” attitude towards her birthday celebrations.
The royal commentator stated that Princess Anne even “cancelled meetings” to sidestep discussions about plans for the milestone celebration.
After attempts to organise something were eventually abandoned, Roya claimed that the Princess has a steadfast rule regarding how she commemorates her birthdays.
She clarified: “Anne’s policy is: ‘I will do things for my birthdays that have a zero, but I won’t do things for my birthdays that have a five.'”
In addition, Roya also offered insight into when Princess Anne might be considering stepping back from royal duties.
She alleges that the Princess has reportedly informed those closest to her of the timeline she hopes to adhere to: “I was told that she’s told her team, ‘I’m going to start winding down a little bit at 80 in five years’ time, and then I want to step back completely at 90.'”
Both Roya and Kate Mansey agreed that the Princess might be adhering to a similar “timescale” as one of her relatives, with Roya noting: “I thought the timeline, as you said, was interesting – that she’s looking at her father, the late Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, who stepped back from public life completely at 96.”
Despite speculation from royal experts about when the Princess might start to lighten her duties, she has remained incredibly active in recent weeks.
Just last week (July 17), she attended an event to award a Hindu community charity with the King’s Award for Voluntary Service.
Even more recently (July 23), she was spotted opening an accessible garden for patients at the Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Centre, part of the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.
