A major high street brand has announced the opening of a brand new store. There have been concerns over the state of the UK high street as of late, as multiple shops and banks have announced closures. However, some brands are actually expanding and adding to the UK high streets. One of them is a Danish brand that has proven popular in the UK since it was introduced to shoppers in 2016.
Sostrene Grene is set to open four new stores across the UK. The brand, which specialises in homeware, small furniture, kitchenware, crafts, and gifts, is known for its minimalist style and design. It already has 47 stores in the UK and 13 other countries across Europe. The opening dates for some of the new stores have been confirmed, but fans of the stylish brand await the dates for others.
The four locations where Sostrene Grene will open their brand new UK stores are:
- Winchester, Hampshire – opening in summer 2025 with exact date to be confirmed.
- Stirling, Scotland – opening August 8 at 9.59am.
- Milton Keynes – opening August 15 at 9.59am.
- Maidstone, Kent – opening date to be confirmed.
The new Winchester store will be located in the city centre. “Our aim is to offer a unique shopping experience that captures the spirit of hygge alongside the warmth and charm of this vibrant community,” said Mikkel Grene, CEO and Co-owner of Søstrene Grene.
In Scotland, Sostrene Grene will open in Thistles Shopping Centre in Stirling beside the Superdrug unit. The first 100 customers there will receive a voucher for a rug as well as a tote bag full of goodies.
The Milton Keynes store will open at Midsummer Place and will also offer vouchers for the first 100 customers through the door. Meanwhile, the Maidstone store will open on Fremlin Walk.
Sostrene Grene is looking at a huge expansion across the UK and aims to have 100 stores in the country by 2027. The Stirling store will mark the brand’s seventh location in Scotland, having already opened in places like Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Mikkel Grene commented: “We’re incredibly proud of the strong connection people in Scotland have with our brand. Stirling’s rich history, with historic landmarks, makes it a perfect location to share our Scandi-inspired products and calming shopping experience.
“We’re excited to welcome both new and loyal customers to explore what Søstrene Grene has to offer and continue to grow throughout Scotland.”
