Amazon Kindle is cheaper from Argos if you use 1 simple code

Usually priced at £159.99, the Kindle Paperwhite costs just £134.99 when you enter the code KINDLE25 in the promo code box at the checkout page on the Argos website. This will knock off £25 immediately from either the grey, green or pink models of the Paperwhite.

This offer is running until July 31.

The Paperwhite remains Amazon’s most popular Kindle model thanks to its classic design with flush screen, pin-sharp text, frontlight for nighttime reading, and, in this newest version, even faster page turns – 20 percent faster, according to Amazon.

There aren’t too many ways to realistically improve a Kindle, but I’ve used this model extensively and it really is excellent. Like all the best e-readers, it gets out of the way and lets you immerse yourself in a book.

If you switch off Wi-Fi (which is only needed to buy and download new books), the battery on the Paperwhite lasts for weeks, certainly enough to not have to charge it on a weekend away or even a two week holiday. When you do need to top up, any USB-C charger will do (there’s a cable in the box but not a charger).

Better yet, the Kindle is also fully waterproof, meaning you can use it in the pool or bath without worrying about your wet hands or even an accidental dunk.

If you want to save a little more, Amazon is selling a refurbished version of the Paperwhite for £115.19. Refurbished simply means it has been pre-owned and returned to Amazon, but should still be in near-perfect condition.

Argos is also offering a £50 discount on the Amazon Kindle Colorsoft, the first Kindle with a colour screen. The device is very similar to the Paperwhite but displays book covers and relevant pictures in books in colour, which not many e-readers do. It also means it’s good for comic book reading, though the screen is a little small for some titles.

Simply add the Kindle Colorsoft to your basket on the Argos website and enter the code KINDLE50 at checkout, and it’ll knock the price down to £219.99, £50 off the £269.99 RRP.

Just like the Paperwhite offer, this £50 discount is valid until July 31.
