The beautiful UK seaside town with £2.71 pints and historic pier | Travel News | Travel

A UK seaside town made the top 10 list of cheapest pints of beer in Europe, offering pints to visitors for as little as £2.71. The price of pints varies across the country, with areas like London and Brighton boasting the highest rates for beer and other alcoholic drinks. However, there are towns and cities where pints are significantly cheaper, such as this seaside spot that has been a top-rated getaway for generations of Brits.

The town in the UK with £2.71, one of the lowest prices in Europe, is Llandudno in Wales. This spot is known for its long beach and the sweeping green landscapes surrounding it. Plus, the 19th-century Llandudno Pier has plenty of shops and arcade games to entertain visitors. There are a number of things to do here, but visiting the pubs for the novelty of a £2.71 pint of beer might be one of the best attractions. The results were published by credit card brand Aqua as part of a wider study comparing getaways in the UK to getaways in Europe.

Located in scenic North Wales, Llandudno, recently voted one of the best places in the UK to move to, is a relatively small town with a population just short of 20,000. In addition to the pier and classic seaside attractions, there are cliffs here that people love to visit for the breathtaking views.

Other things to do in and near this town include the Llandudno Cable Car, the Magic Bar Live Cafe and Conway Castle, to name a few. It is easily accessible, as it is a mere 75-minute drive from Liverpool.

Llandudno came in fifth place in the study of the cheapest pints in Europe. Prague, the capital of Czechia, came in first place. There, tourists can get a pint for as little as £2.01.

Following that, in second place was the Hungarian capital, Budapest, where a pint can be enjoyed for a mere £2.07. Three destinations were placed at number three, with pints costing around £2.09 in Lanzarote, Tenerife and The Algarve.

The rest of the list of the cheapest pints in Europe was Costa del Sol, Ibiza, Porto and Lisbon all in joint fourth place, and Llandudno in fifth place. Meanwhile, Brighton on England’s south coast was named the destination with the most expensive pints, with an average cost of £6.30.

Other destinations with some of the most expensive pints in Europe are London, Cambridge, Paris, Nice and Edinburgh. While many spots in the UK charge high prices, Llandudno remains a popular spot where prices haven’t shot up in recent years.

Visitors have had some positive things to say about Llandudno. One Tripadvisor user commented: “There is lots of stuff to do – boat rides, cable cars, street entertainment, open top bus rides and tobogganing.”

Another said: “Been coming here almost 60 years now to this unspoilt town. The promenade is a step back in time as it never changes. Hotels have to be painted in pastel colours. There is no blaring music blasting from any seafront bars (unlike other seaside towns!).”

A third wrote: “Llandudno has a lovely flat promenade with magnificent views out to sea from all parts of the beach. It is immaculately clean, no litter, no graffiti. Narrow belts of greenery separate the beach from the pavement areas, giving a very calming view of the whole promenade.”
