A massive fire has broken out at a primary school in Great Yarmouth as pupils are evacuated.

Emergency services were called to Ormiston Cliff Park Primary Academy in Orde Avenue in Gorleston at 1.20pm today (July 18). All pupils are out of the school, according to Norfolk Police. Kennedy Road and Bridge Road in the area have been closed.

The blaze has been extinguished and is now being dampened down. Fire crews will remain on the scene and an investigation has been started into the cause.

Paul Seaman, head of operations at Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, said: “We will remain on scene and do whatever is required to support the school and the local community to a full recovery following this incident.”
