Prince Harry’s key demand in peace talks revealed as he vows to stop ‘ambushing’ royals | Royal | News

Since leaving the Royal Family in 2020, Prince Harry has made no secret of the fact that relationships between himself and some of his royal relatives have become fractured, especially his relationship with his brother Prince William. While it was believed he had always been on talking terms with his father King Charles, this was disproved in May, when Harry, 40, revealed that the monarch wouldn’t speak to him.

However, it feels like the tables may now be turning after the first step of a reconciliation between Harry and the King is now underway. This is because just last week, Tobyn Andreae, the King’s communications secretary, and two members of staff from Harry and Meghan Markle’s team – Meredith Maines, the couple’s chief communications officer and head of their household in Montecito, California, and Liam Maguire, who runs the Sussexes’ PR team in the UK – met up.

The informal meeting took place in London, just a stone’s throw away from Buckingham Palace.

As exclusively revealed by The Mail on Sunday, the trio enjoyed a chat together at the London private members’ club Royal Over-Seas League, with limited details released from the meeting.

However, it has now been claimed by a source that Harry had one key demand in the peace talks.

As reported by The Mirror, sources in the US say that Harry wants more direct updates on the King’s cancer treatment so he knows how his father is doing.

It is believed he is also willing to stop ambushing the royals. As reported by The Mirror, an insider said: “For there to be any chance of moving forward… trust has to be rebuilt, and Team Sussex knows the onus is on them.”

They continued: “There also needs to be more KEEN Charles openness between London and California about the timings of events and an end to the ambushing of announcements.”

It is not known whether Harry and the King, 76, have spoken since their top aides met last week, with both of their permissions.

Harry is believed to have not seen his father since February 2024 when he flew to the UK to see the monarch after the King’s cancer diagnosis.
