Man Utd: Marcus Rashford becomes new club’s ‘priority target’ as exit ‘accelerates’ | Football | Sport

Juventus want to sign Marcus Rashford this summer and have made the wantaway Manchester United forward their priority transfer target, according to reports. The Serie A giants join Barcelona in the frame as Rashford prepares to leave United permanently after around two decades at the club.

Juventus have been strongly linked with Jadon Sancho this summer, another exiled player currently searching for his next club. However, the Old Lady may have turned their attention towards Rashford in a bid to beat Barcelona to his signature.

According to The Sun, Juve are accelerating their plans to sign the 27-year-old, who is said to be desperate to find an exit route.

It’s claimed that Barcelona have also pinpointed Rashford as their No. 1 target after missing out on Athletic Club winger Nico Williams.

The La Liga champions moved for Liverpool’s Luis Diaz earlier this summer but were priced out of a move for the Colombian.

Barca have reportedly also shortlisted Marseille forward Mason Greenwood, Rashford’s former team-mate, and AC Milan star Rafael Leao.

And Juventus could force their fellow European giants to pursue alternatives as they attempt to sign Rashford before pre-season commences.

The report adds that the England international is rated incredibly highly at the Allianz Stadium and viewed as a key part of Igor Tudor’s rebuild.

United figures are said to be keen to resolve the situation as soon as possible amid preparations for a colossal season in M16.

Rashford returned to Carrington on Monday, despite being told he could stay away as he explores a potential transfer.

The former No. 10, having had his shirt number stripped and given to new arrival Matheus Cunha, has trained away from Ruben Amorim’s first-team squad.

On Thursday, Rashford was spotted arriving at Carrington at 4.47pm, eight minutes after Amorim had left the building.

The pair’s fallout last season sparked Rashford’s loan switch to Aston Villa, where he scored four goals and registered six assists in 17 appearances.

Villa did not trigger their £40m option to buy the attacker this summer after the club missed out on Champions League football.

Rashford’s mammoth wages could prove problematic and lead to another loan exit if he still has not orchestrated an exit later in the window.
