Oasis superfans camping outside 24 hours before gig starts – and they've spent thousands

Liam and Noel Gallagher will reunite on stage tonight, 16 years after the Mancunian brothers last performed together for their highly anticipated comeback tour. While the opening gig doesn’t start until late tonight, fans who have flown in from places such as Japan, Peru and America have been lining up outside the Cardiff stadium.

Good Morning Britain host Charlotte Hawkins spoke to co-star Richard Nixon, who is in the Welsh capital, speaking to the superfans who have no qualms in lining up for more than 24 hours and spending thousands on flights and hotels. Speaking to Nick from the studio, Charlotte began: “The countdown is on, isn’t it? We all remember last summer that more than 10 million fans from 158 countries were queuing to buy tickets for the tour, and now it all starts tonight.”

Nick said the tour has been a total sell-out as the camera panned to people who arrived outside Principality Stadium yesterday (Thursday, July 3).

He shared: “Some of these fans actually arrived yesterday. They’ve got floor tickets, and they’ve got that mad rush to the front to get the best possible spot later this afternoon. The fella at the front is from Glasgow, but some of the others are from Japan, Korea, the US, Italy and Mexico as well.

“They are not bothered about how much they paid, but it’s a lot of money. It cost thousands to get here and for the tickets on top of that, as well, of course. But they are slightly worried, in truth, that Liam and Noel might fall out again.”

When Liam was asked on X last May why Cardiff was chosen as the opening tour venue, he said: “Because Cardiff is the bo**ox.”

Principality Stadium is a 74,500-seat venue, with stars like Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift holding their concerts there last year.

Doors open at 5pm tonight and Saturday, and the band will be supported by indie rock band Cast and Richard Ashcroft

However, Richard later reiterated: “Liam and Noel might fall out again before this gig even starts!”

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays from 6am on ITV and ITVX.
