Shower glass will sparkle like new with ‘game-changing’ 35p spray

This cleaning hack could leave your shower glass sparkling with just one 35p item.

Shower glass is notoriously tricky to try and keep clean. Simply having a shower can leave spots of water on the surface of the glass that leave marks when they dry, and that’s not to mention the splashes of shampoo or soap that can end up baked onto the surface of the glass, too.

Cleaning the glass is even more of a chore in hard water areas, as the higher level of minerals in the water means you’re more likely to end up with limescale coating every part of your shower.

Unless you get into the habit of vigorously wiping down your shower every time you use it, it can feel as though there’s almost no chance you’ll ever get the glass so clear it looks like it isn’t there at all.

But according to cleaning fans on social media, there actually is a way you can get your shower glass sparkling again – just by using one 35p item in a spray bottle.

In a Facebook group dedicated to fans of cleaning guru Mrs Hinch, one person shared a post in which they asked for “any ideas” on how to clean a glass shower screen.

Before long, they had received over 60 comments on their post with advice on how to clean their glass. And the number one suggestion was to simply fill a spray bottle with white vinegar and spritz it over the screen.

One person said: “White vinegar spray and a glass cloth.”

Another added: “White vinegar solution with water and a drip of dish soap.”

White vinegar can be bought from most supermarkets for as little as 35p. You may also already have some in your kitchen cupboards, as it’s regularly used for cooking and cleaning.

If you don’t want to use white vinegar for your shower glass, other suggestions in the Facebook comments included using Viakal, a limescale remover spray which can be bought from supermarkets for around £3.

Several other commenters recommended using Pink Stuff glass cleaning spray, Cif cream cleaner, and even just half a lemon, which they rub all over the surface of the glass to lift water stains.
