Meghan Markle’s wine launch set for unexpected royal competition as King Charles has slashed the prices of his own wines. Highgrove Gardens announced a 15 % off deal when six or more bottles are purchased for English Wine Week this week.
The 43-year-old, who stepped away from royal duties in 2020, revealed that her Napa Valley rosé wine will be available on July 1. The King’s wine, which is priced at £34.95, is the first premium English fizz to carry the label of the King.
Using English grapes, it is created at the Herbert Hall Winery exclusively for Highgrove.
Unlike the King’s, which has been on sale for some time, Meghan is yet to reveal the price of her Napa Valley rosé wine.
The former working royal’s 2023 wine, which will be available to buy on what would have been Princess Diana’s 64th birthday on Tuesday, has been described by her brand as having notes of “soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality and a lasting finish”.
She also added the wine will be a “bespoke blend” which is “launching just in time for summer entertaining”.
Meghan released her first batch of products with her brand As Ever, including her rapsberry spread and flower sprinkles, in early April. The second, and most recent, launch came just last week.
King Charles’s Highgrove Organic Strawberry Preserve saw a rise in sales after Meghan’s launch after royal fans flocked to buy the preserve.
Prior to the launch of her second batch on June 20, Meghan released a newsletter via As Ever just days before. The newsletter read: “First off, a sincere thank you for making the debut of As Ever absolutely extraordinary.
“We had a feeling there would be excitement, but to see everything sell out in less than an hour was an amazing surprise. We are pleased to share that on June 20th, we’re going live with the products you love – plus, some new delicious surprises.”
