Putin’s puppet erupts in EU ‘rainbow freaks’ and ‘cockroaches’ rant | World | News

A prominent Vladimir Putin ally has launched a bizarre rant about the EU, claiming it is full of “rainbow freaks” and “b***hes”. Former Russian Prime Minister and President Dmitry Medvedev is a long-time friend of Putin, and a vociferous supporter of his brutal invasion of Ukraine.

He now serves as Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia. Throughout the more than three-and-a-half year conflict, Medvedev has repeated false claims spread by the Kremlin about about “Nazis” running Ukraine, and made various ominous military threats towards Western nations providing support to Ukraine.

In his latest tirade on Telegram, the Kremlin firebrand took aim at the EU, accusing it of “besital Russophobia”, claiming it is transforming “into a self-sufficient military bloc, which must gradually begin to compete with NATO”.

He posted the lengthy message, entitled: “On a Change of Approach, or Why Ukraine Should Not Become an EU Member”, on Wednesday, claiming the EU is an “organization that dreams of revenge against Russia”.

The EU has been a strong backer of Ukraine, providing billions in military aid and other forms of support.

“The idiotic European politicians of recent years have made every effort to achieve this,” he wrote, according to a Google translation.

“They have completely destroyed the idea of the EU as an economic giant that does not want wars and discord between European powers.”

Ukraine is keen to join NATO, though it currently seems a distant prospect given the war raging on in the country, and fears among Western countries of further inflaming tensions with Russia by admitting the country. However, Ukraine does have EU candidate status and accession negotiations with the bloc are ungoing.

In his rant, Medvedev suggested the Kremlin sees the EU as a military threat to Russia, as it does NATO.

“Brussels cockroaches and narrow-minded leaders of EU countries proclaim their own defence strategy, declaring entry into the ‘era of rearmament’,” he continued.

“Such an ugly metamorphosis of the European Union also pursues a separate goal: to arm the neo-Nazi Kiev regime to such an extent that it becomes invulnerable to Russia,” Medvedev added.

He also claimed the bloc, “stuffed with weapons, rainbow freaks and loud Brussels b***hes, is a direct threat to Russia”.

“This is exactly how it should be treated. In any case, until its approaches to us change.”

However, he added this stance “of course, should not interfere with bilateral cooperation with individual European countries”, perhaps in reference to nations like EU nations like Slovakia, Bulgaria and Hungary who are seen as more pro-Russia.

He put out the message the day NATO members gathered in The Hague for a major summit, with world leaders including Donald Trump and Sir Keir Starmer in attendance.

Leaders committed to invest 5% of GDP per year into defence and security-related spending by 2035, amid fears of Russia’s war in Ukraine one day spilling into NATO territory and the military alliance’s Article 5 commitment triggering a wider conflict.
