In recent months, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have conducted engagements independently, leading to a commentator claiming the royal pair are “experimenting” with a professional separation.

Ahead of the Invictus Winter Games 2025, Prince Harry has been seen in Canada, promoting next year’s event and even launching a linked programme in a school in Vancouver – but tongues are wagging about Meghan’s absence.

The Duchess of Sussex has been accompanying Prince Harry to Invictus Games events since 2017 and joined her husband in Vancouver in February 2024 for a previous promotional event.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News Harry and Meghan are working on a new direction for their brand. He said: “This is obviously a new tactic. As in every brand the Sussexes want to promote their brand as best as they can.”

The leading commentator added: “They have tried something that has worked with the so-called royal tours of Nigeria and Colombia.

“Then we have got the solo engagements, so they are experimenting.”

He also claimed the royal pair are trying to “think up new devices” in terms of promotion efforts.

Prince Harry awaits his Netflix documentary release on December 10, focusing on the elite sporting world of polo. So far, it has gained mixed reactions online with some fans stating they’ll give the documentary a “hard pass” after seeing it has been produced by the royal pair.

In a two-minute teaser, Netflix released footage with the caption: “Polo, a behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced and glamorous world of the sport, is coming to Netflix on December 10.

“Follow elite global players on and off the field as they compete in the high-stakes U.S. Open Polo Championship. From executive producers Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

Meanwhile, a PR expert claims Prince Harry is aiming to “win back the trust” of the public and “restore his image” during this recent visit to Canada to promote the Invictus Games ahead of the Winter Games season in Vancouver and Whistler in 2025.

PR expert and founder of No Strings Public Relations Riley Gardiner, exclusively told Express.co.uk: “It’s a smart move for Prince Harry to promote the Invictus Games on his own this year – it means the spotlight can stay on the games and away from every little thing Meghan does. He’s showing respect for the athletes and the cause without any distractions.”

The Invictus Games were co-founded in 2014 by Prince Harry, who served in the British Army for 10 years and completed two tours in Afghanistan. The international event features paralympic-style competitions for wounded, injured and sick service members and veterans and is an event Harry has been passionate about.

Next year’s games take place in Whistler and Vancouver from February 8 to February 16.
