Princess Eugenie looked extra stylish in a chic ensemble at Royal Ascot 2025 as she was joined by top politician, Ben Wallace, the former UK Secretary of State for Defence. The politician looked smart in a dark suit, silver tie and beige waistcoat, whereas the 35-year-old donned a white and high-waisted skirt.
The mother-of-two opted for a daring crop top and her chic look was finished with a wide-brimmed hat and heels. The Princess of York also carried one of her most-used handbags – a hexagonal-shaped number by M2 Malletier. Ascot Racecourse is well-known for its strict dress code, particularly in the Royal Enclosure – the general consensus includes that dresses or skirts should be of modest length, falling just above the knee or longer.
Eugenie was joined by her cousin, Zara Tindall, who looked stunning in a powder blue trouser suit and white clutch bag. Trouser suits are a recent, new addition to the dress code. They are now allowed to be worn, but they should be full-length and of matching colour and material.
King Charles, 76, appeared in happy spirits as he greeted his niece Princess Eugenie, and her mother Sarah Ferguson, 65, with kisses on their hands at the Berkshire racecourse. The beaming mother Fergie, looked equally fashionable in a trendy monochrome polka dot dress.
The King’s appearance today comes after Princess of Wales sparked concern as she pulled out of attending the festival on Wednesday, apparently at the last minute.
But royal sources insisted there was nothing to worry about and that it was simply a case of crossed wires.
While Princess Kate was not present at Ascot, Charles and Camilla were at the races and planned to attend all week. The Princess of Wales’s mother Carole Middleton has also attended, alongside her daughter-in-law the wife of Kate’s brother James Middleton.
The royal procession is celebrating its 200th anniversary, a tradition begun in 1825 when George IV was accompanied by the Duke of Wellington.
The late Queen, Queen Elizabeth II, was a passionate owner of thoroughbreds and had more than 20 Royal Ascot winners during her 70-year reign.
