A food creator has shared a scrummy pie recipe using minimal ingredients that’s the perfect sweet treat snack. Eloise Head, the creator of the viral account Fitwaffle, revealed one of her latest creations from her newest book that’s all to do with air fryers.
With air fryer popularity not seeming to wane anytime soon, Eloise shows how the appliance doesn’t have to be used only for savoury dishes. A bonus of Eloise’s recipe is that it only has four ingredients, most of which you probably already have in your kitchen. All you need is some slices of soft bread, Nutella (or filling of your choice), and an egg and a dash of milk.
These can create small handheld pies that become perfectly crispy in the air fryer.
Eloise’s recipe appeared to excite her fans, with many showering the sweet treats with praise.
One person said: “These look SO good.” @mrshiggs85 wrote: “Oh dear why did I have to see this! I always have all of those ingredients in! I’m going to end up making these every day!”
@lulusfamilybakery commented, “This looks so delicious,” while Zoe suggested, “I tried with biscoff and Nutella so good.”
So if you’re after an easy sweet treat which can all be done in the air fryer, this is what you’ll need.
Nutella Toast Pies
Ingredients
- Soft bread
- Nutella
- Egg wash: 1 small egg + 1 tsp milk
Method
Cut off the crusts from the bread. Press the middle down to make a small square.
Fill the middle with a good amount of Nutella. Mix the egg and milk together in a small bowl or ramekin.
Brush the edges of the bread with the egg wash, before folding the bread in half. Seal the edges with a fork.
Brush the tops of the pies with some more egg wash. Place in the air fryer and cook for five minutes at 180℃ until golden and crispy.
Drizzle with some melted Nutella and dust with a sprinkling of icing sugar. Serve and enjoy!
