A distraught teen precariously perched himself on the ledge of the Williamsburg Bridge and looked to jump off it, before heroic NYPD cops hoisted him to safety, harrowing video shows.
The 19-year-old man was sitting on a ledge underneath the Brooklyn side of the span around 12:50 p.m. when a 911 call rolled in, police said.
Members of the NYPD’s elite Emergency Service Unit rushed to the bridge and spent about an hour talking with him, according to police.
Video taken by an onlooker shows the moment two cops lowered themselves onto the ledge and positioned themselves on either side of the possible jumper — while emergency vehicles and other traffic stalled just feet above them.
Another clip shows multiple cops surrounding the distressed teen as they prepared to hoist him up safely to the roadway.
He was removed unharmed from the span around 1:50 p.m. and taken to a local hospital for a psychological evaluation, police said.
