One of the stars of 1000lb sisters has shocked fans after an unexpected transformation saw her drop 225kg — but that isn’t the only change people have noticed about the reality television personality. Tammy Slaton, 39, also unveiled her new teeth on the Creative Chaos podcast.
During her interview with host Hunter Ezell, Tammy — who stars in the TLC show with her sister Amy Slaton-Halterman — revealed that she’d gotten her smile makeover just a week earlier at Aspen Dental. As per Nine News, the presenter was thrilled for Tammy — who lives in Kentucky — and complimented the reality television star on her new grin.
Hunter told Tammy: “Show me them chompers, girl,” as she flashed a toothy grin. “Congratulations, that’s awesome.”
Tammy replied: “They’re temporary still. But they had to cement them in because the glue wasn’t holding. They had to pull teeth, and it’s a bridge. I’m still getting more done. It’s a process.”
The podcast host empathised with Tammy, calling some of the comments she had received “absolutely repulsive.” Tammy admitted: “It’s not easy. It’s not.”
The reality TV star previously revealed on the same podcast that she was engaged to a woman named Andrea, and this time, she spoke more about her relationship. The news originally came as a huge surprise for millions of fans who were not aware that Tammy was even dating after her husband, Caleb Willingham, died in June 2023.
Tammy confirmed that the couple has been dating for a few years now and said Andrea surprised her with tickets to see American psychic Theresa Caputo and also got her a new ring for the engagement.
In a Season 7 episode of 1000-Lb Sisters, Andrea confirmed that she had met her fiancé, Tammy, on a dating app.
She said: “Tammy and I met on a dating app. I had just gotten on there, I wasn’t on there very long. I saw her and she saw me and we just started talking and it’s been like every day since.”
Andrea seems to keep her private life quiet, and not much is known about Tammy’s partner.
Tammy offered: “Andrea is beautiful, I like everything about her. I do have feelings for Andrea, but right now we’re just taking things slow day by day.”
The 39-year-old had previously come out as pansexual and said she wanted to take a new approach to dating following her husband’s death. Tammy’s relationship with Andrea was her first connection after Caleb died, and she was worried about how her family would react to her dating a woman. She confirmed that she considers herself to be a lesbian and was worried about telling her family before the relationship was made public.
But Tammy didn’t need to worry about her family’s reaction as they rallied around her in support, especially her older sisters.
One of them, Misty, told Tammy: “It doesn’t matter to me.” Her sibling TV co-star, Amanda, said, “I don’t care as long as she treats you right.”
