One person was killed and 11 others were injured in a wild, multi-car pile-up in Brooklyn Tuesday evening after a van plowed into an FDNY truck, causing a devastating chain reaction, cops said.
The gnarly crash occurred around 6:45 p.m. when an FDNY vehicle traveling eastbound on Avenue S was struck by a commercial van traveling north on West 11th Street in Gravesend, according to the NYPD.

The FDNY truck then smashed into an Access-A-Ride vehicle, which then plowed into a Lexus SUV, police said.
A 78-year-old male passenger of the Access-A-Ride van was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead, authorities added.
Nearly a dozen others involved in the crazy wreck suffered minor injuries.
Six firefighters, the driver of the commercial van involved in the initial collision, the operator of the Access-A-Ride van, three additional passengers, and the Lexus driver were all taken to local hospitals.

All 11 who were injured in the chain-reaction crash are in stable condition, police said.
No arrests have been made, and an investigation remains ongoing.
