How did Philip Friend get into cooking?

Philip is a fan of the traditional 70s British food that he grew up with.

He still cites Delia’s Complete Cookery Course as his main source of culinary inspiration.

On his blog Phil’s Kitchen he writes, “Cooking has always been a significant part of my life. I love of all cooking – for me it is the best way to lose myself in a very happy world

“But in the world of cooking, baking epitomes total comfort for me; it’s possibly also a form of therapy for me -and it is certainly my “go to” when I want to relax.
