IT’S that time of year again as clubs scramble to get their summer business concluded.
There’s already been a flurry of activity ahead of the 2019/20 season, with Premier League and Championship clubs looking to get their business done before the madness of deadline day.
When is transfer deadline day?
THIS summer deadline day for Championship and Premier League clubs is Thursday, August 8.
There were changes aplenty in 2018, where it was agreed that the window would be brought forward from it’s usual conclusion at the back end of August.
This was in an effort to minimise disruption to squads once the regular seasons underway.
Championship clubs begin their 2019/20 campaign on the weekend of August 2-5 this term, whilst for the Premier League it’s August 9-11.
As was the case last year, whilst the Prem window closes on August 8, the official FIFA window still shuts on August 31.
This means that while English teams will not be allowed to buy after August 8, players could be sold to foreign clubs.
The only exception to the rule is in Italy, where the window will shut on August 18.

What time does the Premier League window shut?
THERE’s no dramatic midnight closing of the window this year.
Deadline Day is slightly shorter than perhaps you’re used to, with clubs having to wrap up their dealings by 5pm.
Championship clubs also have the same deadline.
But League One and League Two have until a later date, which has been confirmed as Monday, September 2 at 5pm.
