Season six of Vikings, which will focus on the warriors as they travel all over the world, is expected to return some time in autumn.
However writer Michael Hirst may have revealed the devastating fate of one character.
When asked: “Is it safe to say Bjorn is a better leader than Ivar?” Michael dropped a huge hint over what’s in store for Bjorn Ironside (played by Alexander Ludwig) in the upcoming series.
He said: “Yes. His instincts are more generous, he’s less crippled emotionally and mentally.
“He has very good intentions. But the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
“At the start of season six we’ll see he’s immediately faced with huge questions that don’t have easy answers.”
Michael went on to hint Bjorn will be faced with “bad results” to some of his tough decisions.
“If he makes a wrong move or the wrong choices they can lead to very bad results,” he continued.
“Just being well-intentioned and essentially a good person, isn’t enough.
“His goodness is going to be tested when he assumes bigger responsibilities.”
