One foodie who recently tried the $4.50 snack took to Facebook to share a snap of the flavoured nuts and to say they’d spotted the ‘addictive treats’ for sale at Coles.

Others who’ve tried the unique product have said while they are delicious, they’ve warned the spread does ‘get all over fingers and hands’.

In addition to the Vegemite-flavoured nuts, Picky Picky Nuts is also offering a range of other quirky flavour combinations.

The PCA is based in Australia’s peanut capital, Kingaroy and works directly with Queensland peanut farmers.

The company was established in 1924 has been regarded as the nation’s leading supplier of locally grown peanuts for ninety-four years.

It’s not the first time Vegemite has been used to create a unique offering with an Australian company using it to make a distinctly flavoured gin.

The concoction, built on the iconic breakfast treat, was conceived by Sydney-based craft distillers Archie Rose and is aptly named ArchieMite Buttered Toast Spirit.

‘Inspired by Australia’s love for umami-rich breakfast spreads we’ve created an unaged spirit like no other featuring freshly churned, uncultured Pepe Saya butter and Sonoma sourdough toast,’ read an announcement on the Archie Rose site.

‘This unaged spirit has a big, mitey character at the front followed by biscuity, bready notes.’
