Two British pensioners arrested on Caribbean cruise after £2m of cocaine was discovered


TWO British pensioners have been arrested after £2million of cocaine was discovered of their suitcases on a cruise ship.

The couple, 70 and 72, are being held on suspicion of worldwide drug smuggling after their cabin was searched when the Marco Polo docked in Portugal’s capital Lisbon.

Police stated they discovered 9kg of cocaine hidden in false bottoms in 4 instances.

Officers swooped final week following a tip-off from the UK’s Nationwide Crime Company. The person and girl, who haven’t been named, have been on a cruise returning to London from the Caribbean.

They have been yesterday being held in jail after showing in entrance of a decide.

Vitor Ananais, who led the operation for Portugal’s Policia Judiciaria, stated: “The person and the girl are English though they don’t stay in England however in one other European nation.
