Toddler, 1, Dies After Being Hit By Van In Birmingham As Man, 30, And Woman, 26 Held For Dangerous Driving

A TODDLER hit by a van yesterday has died – after a man and woman were arrested following the horror crash.

The one-year-old boy, who was rushed to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, has now died after suffering a critical head injury.

A man, 30, and a woman, 26, were taken into custody on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving.

They are still being quizzed by cops after an air ambulance, two ambulances and a critical care vehicle were scrambled to the Moseley road.

The Birmingham Mail reports police confirmed the youngster has now died.

Inspector Steve Radford from West Midlands Police’s Collision Investigation Unit (CIU), said: “The tragic death of such a young child is deeply saddening.

“I’m keen to hear from anyone who was in Wake Green Road or the immediate vicinity and may have witnessed the collision or heard anything that may assist our investigation.”
