This £39.50 Marks And Spencer Dress Has Already Sold Out Twice…and We Show You Why It Suits Every Shape And Size

EVERYONE is gagging to get hold of this Marks and Spencer dress, despite the brand being shamed by one of fashion’s toughest critics.

Last week former Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman slammed the high street giant saying: “I think Marks & Spencer is having problems because what they are doing is not very interesting – boring.”

But despite her damning outlook on the future of M&S, this dress remains a summer sell-out.

The neon-striped, leopard print midi has sold out twice since its launch on 29th May.

Despite disappointing sales figures recently, M&S is flying high on social media, with fashion fans going crazy for the new printed frock making it a must-have.

A  spokesperson from M&S told us: “The Limited Edition leopard print dress has already caused a buzz on social media and has been selling well since it arrived.”

The dress is a hit, but how does it work on different body shapes?

Stylist Sharna Valentine, asked models of four different shapes and sizes to try it on to see if it really is the style hit of the summer.

David Cummings – The Sun Madison rates the M&S frock a strong 5/5

Madison, 22, Whitechapel, East London, Size 12, Rectangle

“This dress is great for my body shape.

“I have quite high hips, so I struggle to find flattering dresses.

“It cinches in at the waist, giving me extra curves, which I think is really flattering.

“The material doesn’t crease when you sit down which is a huge bonus, and the elasticated waist is very comfortable.

Overall, I love the dress, especially the fun sleeves –  and who doesn’t love a dress with pockets.”

David Cummings – The Sun Maria loves the nipped in waist and floaty skirt over her hips Silver Metallic T-bar Stiletto Sandals, £27.99 from New Look – buy now

Maria, 22, Shepherd’s Bush, West London, Size 14, Pear

“I sometimes find dresses difficult to buy as my upper body is smaller than my bottom half, so things often look out of shape.

“This one fits perfectly,   I love the nipped in waist and floaty skirt over my hips.

“I feel very feminine, but the leopard print makes it feel less girly and more on-trend.

“I think the stripe down the side also makes it seem less M&S, this is more like something you’d find in Whistles.

“I love it.”

David Cummings – The Sun Nahuane says the dress is great for her hourglass shape White Sandals, £15 from Primark – buy in store

Nahuane, 20, Sau Paulo in Brazil, Size 16, Hourglass

“I thought it was maybe a little too long for me but it’s actually a really flattering length.

“The shape is flattering on my figure which I wouldn’t expect, it sculpts my hourglass shape and  the material doesn’t clinging to my body.

“I feel really comfortable in it, and it’s on the right side of pretty without being too girly.”

David Cummings – The Sun Livia would prefer if it had a V-neck so it would be more flattering on her bust but still gives it a 4/5 Wide Fit Coral Suedette Pointed Court Shoes, £17.99, from New Look – buy now

Livia, 29, Bristol, Size 18, Apple

“I really like the stripe down the side against the leopard print, it’s a great pop of colour on a classic pattern.

“It’s very flattering, the cinched waist nips me in in all the right places, and the ruched detailing on the sleeves is lovely too.

“I would prefer it to have a V neck, as it’s a better shape on my bust, but that is the only thing I’d change.

“Also this dress would be great with heels for work or a night out, and would go really well with  trainers, it’s so versatile.”
