The Sun hits new record with almost 34MILLION Brits enjoying our website last month
LAST month saw The Sun hit a new record with almost 34 MILLION Brits enjoying the latest news, showbiz and sport on our website.
The figures, from industry numbercrunchers Comscore, reveal 33.9 million UK residents visited thesun.co.uk in July, up 2.4 per cent from the month before.
The Sun was the only major publisher to see growth from June to July.
It means more than half the total UK population now read The Sun — and among adults, that number is even higher.
The Sun cemented its position as the UK’s online number one, with a growing lead over MailOnline that now stands at 4.5 million.
TheSun.co.uk won the prestigious News Website of the Year award at the Society of Editors’ Press Awards, the industry Oscars, earlier this year.

The huge lead over the Mail is all the more impressive as only four years ago The Sun’s website was behind a paywall.
Since becoming a free site, we have relaunched and redesigned it and built a brand-new app.
