Michael and Alex conducted the interview with the Muppets stars via video link on the BBC show, with both Kermit and Miss Piggy streaming live from different homes. The bizarre chat between the four on The One Show had plenty of memorable moments, including an update on their romantic status and their upcoming show Muppets Now on Disney+, but when Michael made a joke about dueting with Miss Piggy, the Muppet cut the interview short.
Muppets fans will be all too familiar with Miss Piggy’s love for theatrics, including the occasional sing-song every now and then.
And after discussing the pair’s upcoming venture with Disney, Alex couldn’t help but see if the Muppet star would be up for joining Michael in a special duet.
Alex asked: “Now Miss Piggy, before you go, obviously because we’ve got two brilliant singers, yourself and Michael,
“We were wondering, could a duet be on the cards?”

Michael revealed he would “love” to perform with the Muppet character to which she replied: “I would love to do a song with you, Michael!
“I think we could all use another inspirational song like your ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, that was so touching by the way.”
Michael thanked Miss Piggy before she interjected: “Maybe we could do a cover of Harry Styles’ Watermelon Sugar?
“I mean, food! Who isn’t inspired by food, right?” she added.
Spotting the perfect opportunity for a pun, Michael chimed: “We could change it to ‘You’ll Never Pork Alone’.”
An awkward silence descended on the studio before Miss Piggy snapped: “Okay! I think we’re done!”
Michael and Alex laughed at the reaction, with the latter commenting: “I don’t think she’s onboard.”
Kermit couldn’t resist weighing in himself, telling The One Show host: “Stepped over the line there Michael!”
The One Show hosts clearly saw the funny side of the two Muppets’ reaction, with Miss Piggy hitting back: “It’s gonna be a solo album!”
As Alex tried to regain some level of order, she turned back to the screen to bid the two farewell, only to see Miss Piggy had vanished.
Miss Piggy briefly returned to hastily cut the interview short, saying: “Yeah, yeah. It’s been great, okay.”
Both Michael and Alex continued to laugh at the walk-off before Kermit signed off: “Thanks guys.”
The One Show continues weeknights at 7pm on BBC One.
