Two years ago, The Super Mario Bros Movie dominated the box office, raking in over $1.3 billion worldwide
The CG-animated Nintendo adventure starring Chris Pratt as the Italian plumber and Jack Black as Bowser has a long-awaited sequel, arriving in cinemas next year.
Originally rumoured to be called The Super Mario World Movie, the actual title is The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, teasing a lift off into space inspired by the Mario Galaxy video games.
The first full trailer has landed with Bowser still shrunk down from the first film; meanwhile, a couple of new stars have been revealed as voicing Nintendo legends.
Benny Safdie is playing Bowser Jr, while Brie Larson is voicing Mario Galaxy’s space princess Rosalina. Plot details remain unknown, but they are expected to become clearer in a new trailer next year.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie hits UK cinemas April 3, 2026.
