‘That’s why you chlorinate!’ Sunrise’s David Koch makes shock confession that he pees in the pool… leaving his co-host Sam Armytage disgusted
H’s best known for his controversial comments on Sunrise.
And Sunrise co-host, David ‘Kochie’ Koch, made a shock confession on Wednesday.
The 62-year-old left his co-host Samantha Armytage, 42, ‘disgusted’ as he admitted to ‘peeing in his pool’ whenever he goes swimming.
‘I think you’re lying… you’ve never peed in your pool?’ Kochie asked Samantha after a news item aired about guests who ‘pee in pools’ at vacation rentals.
‘No!’ Samantha replied adding: ‘I can’t believe you just said while watching that, ‘Who doesn’t pee in the pool!?’ That’s disgusting!’
David thankfully confirmed he does not urinate in other people’s swimming pools, only while he’s splashing around in his ‘own’.

‘In your own pool – no one else’s. There’s a lot of water around. That’s why you chlorinate,’
‘That’s gross. The water goes purple – don’t you know?’ Samantha countered.
‘No it doesn’t. I can vouch it doesn’t,’ David remarked before his colleagues burst into fits of laughter.

Kochie has endured his fair share of controversies while sitting in the hosting chair.
In October last year, the grandfather-of-five hit headlines after making a comment about slavery while discussing Usain Bolt.
During a sports segment, presenter Mark Beretta read out a story about the Jamaican athlete potentially transferring from the Central Coast Mariners soccer team to a European club.

‘So the Mariners sell him for money, they make a lot of money out of it?’ Kochie asked.
Mark replied: ‘It’s a win-win. You keep him, great. You sell him, so be it. That’s the tough world of professional football’.
‘Who said slavery was over – anyway, no,’ Kochie then shot back, as his fellow panellists appeared stunned by his comment.
Through a spokesperson, Kochie told Daily Mail Australia at the time that his phrasing was ‘clumsy’.

It’s not the first time the presenter has come under fire for his comments.
Back in 2013, David attracted the ire of fans after he urged women to be ‘more discreet’ when breastfeeding their babies.
The comment led to about 50 women staging a subsequent ‘nurse-in’ outside the Sunrise studio in Sydney’s Martin Place.
Later that year, he also raised eyebrows for questioning whether Irish people could be behind the Boston Marathon bombings.
‘Some people – is this a long bow? – of course it’s a very big Irish Catholic setting… Margaret Thatcher’s funeral coming up tomorrow, in London – is it a really long stretch to think they could be related?’ he asked.
Still on screens! Kochie has been co-hosting Channel Seven’s Sunrise since 2002
