The Blues usually arrive to training at 2pm, but the stony-faced squad cruised into Cobham three hours earlier than planned for a warm down.

Sarri has no time to waste before his team fly to Sweden to face Malmo in the Europa League later this week.

Chelsea are now slumped at sixth in the Premier League table after Pep Guardiola’s side ran riot at the Etihad.

Sergio Aguero bagged a hat-trick, Raheem Sterling scored twice and Ilkay Gundogan found the net to pile the pressure on Sarri.

Sarri clearly had a sour taste in his mouth after the match when he refused to shake Guardiola’s hand.

After the devastating defeat to City, Sarri admitted that his job at Stamford Bridge is hanging in the balance.

When he was asked if he feared the sack, he said: “I don’t know. You have to ask the club.

“I am worried about my team, I’m worried about the performance. But my job is always at risk.”

And the Blues boss, who took over from Antonio Conte in July 2018, took a swipe at club owner Roman Abramovich.

He said: “If the president calls, I’ll be happy, seeing as I never hear from him.”

But pundit Gary Neville believes that Chelsea sacking the 60-year-old would show the club are “weak.”
