Speedskater Kamila Sellier leaves race on stretcher in bloody Olympic scene

It was a scary moment on the speedskating track.

In the sixth quarterfinal head of the women’s 1500 meters, Polish skater Kamila Sellier did not finish after taking a blade to the face in a bloody scene.

Sellier was cut under he left eye as she fell when American skater Kristen Santos-Griswold’s skate caught her up high.

The race was delayed for several minutes with 13 laps to go as medics attended to Sellier and attendants cleaned the ice.

Per the NBC broadcast, Sellier game a thumbs-up as she left the ice on a stretcher.

Neither Sellier nor Santos-Grisworld returned to finish the race, with both listed as receiving penalties.
