SHOCKING photographs from the wreckage of Hollywood star James Dean’s crash have been discovered.
And they’re set to be auctioned off for a whopping £16,000.
The collection of black and white photos shows the mangled Porsche 550 Spyder after the actor fatally crashed into another car in 1955.
The 24-year-old was driving on on Route 366 in California on his way to a racing event when he collided with a 1950 Ford Tudor, driven by Navy veteran Donald Turnupseed.
The cultural icon suffered a broken neck and died shortly after being rushed to hospital.
Both Turnupseed and Dean’s mechanic Rolf Wutherich were unscathed in the horrific accident.
The tragic crash came only nine days after Dean traded in a Porsche Super Speedster for the more powerful Spyder.
The photos taken by police show the devastating impact of the accident, with the vehicle’s body completely crumpled in the crash.
The photos were taken by police and given to the Robert Coyle, the lawyer of the other driver, in case he was charged with driving offences.
But after Turnupseed was cleared of any wrongdoing, his lawyer held onto the pictures.
