Sami Khedira rejects two transfers offers as midfielder holds out for Arsenal switch from Juventus
SAMI KHEDIRA is playing the long game in the hope of sealing a free transfer to Arsenal, according to reports.
The 32-year-old has been told he is free to leave Juventus this summer following the arrivals of Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot.
Khedira, a World Cup winner with Germany, has reportedly not been short of interest this summer.
The Daily Star report that Turkish duo Besiktas and Fenerbache both have offers on the table.
But the veteran has turned them both down in the hope that the Gunners will make a late swoop.
Khedira sparked rumours that a move to Unai Emery’s side was on the horizon after he was pictured at the Emirates ahead of a pre-season friendly with Lyon last month.
He has spent four years at the Old Lady but found himself warming the bench for the majority of last season with just eight league starts.
Time is running out for the Gunners to seal any move today but they will be able to land him after the deadline if Khedira agrees a mutual termination of his contract with Juve.
He has two years left on his current deal after extending his contract in September.
