Reset your home on Sundays by completing five tasks

There’s nothing quite like giving your home a clean and tidy before the new week begins. It means that you can wake up in the morning without the stress of wondering whether your home is neat or whether there are things strewn everywhere for no reason.

Christy, who posts on TikTok as @christyytiktok, shared her “Sunday reset checklist” – and she shared it was “step by step” so you wouldn’t forget anything major.

1. Bedroom

First off, she shared that you should wash and change your bedding, as well as putting any clothes away that you have lying around.

You should also “dust and disinfect nightstands and mirror,” vacuum, and mop, depending on what type of flooring you have in the bedroom.

With just a few tasks checked off your list, you’ll already feel so much better, and your bedroom will be ready for another week of early nights.

2. Bathroom

A room that many people try to avoid when it comes to cleaning, Christy shared that it’s really easy once you know what to do. First, wash all the towels from the following week.

Then, she shared it’s important to disinfect your sink and clean your mirror while you’re there so it’s streak free.

Don’t forget to “scrub the toilet and shower,” giving every single part of the loo a thorough going over with your preferred cleaning products.

You should empty your bin once that task is completed. Christy likes to put some essential oil on a cotton pad and pop it in hers so the general bin odour doesn’t impact her throughout the week.

If you need to, you could also “replace toilet paper, towels, and soap”. Of course, it’s also important to vacuum and mop the bathroom floor, too.

3. Kitchen

When it comes to the kitchen, it’s important to start with tidying the clutter that’s on the sides before you do anything else. Then, you can focus on disinfecting the counters, appliances, and sink.

Empty the kitchen bin and disinfect it. Because it often has food waste put in it, it can often smell vile.

Next up is vacuuming and mopping the floors, as well as emptying and refilling the dishwasher if you have one. If not, you’ll need to hand-wash the dishes and dry them off. Once you’ve done these tasks, your kitchen will look so much better.

4. Living room

Much like all the other rooms, it’s important to tidy the clutter and use disinfectant first and foremost.

Then, fluff cushions and fold blankets, and dust all the surfaces, including the TV. Vacuum and mop everywhere too.

5. General

Finally, she said that it’s good to get a bulk of your laundry done on a Sunday, and then you can light a candle and enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Would you try this Sunday reset method? Let us know in the comments…
